Over my career, I have been fortunate to work across a broad range of clinical roles ranging from public hospital orthopedics and emergency to supporting specialist orthopedic fracture clinics and privately in roles supporting amateur and professional athletes and serving members of the Australian Defence Force.

In the early part of my career, I recognized the pivotal role of promoting active patient management. This led me to undertake a Masters of Exercise Science in which I developed a detailed understanding of the anatomical and physiological basis of strength and conditioning and the application to both patients and athletes. It is fair to say that this knowledge and its pragmatic application to all patients including athletes is a fundamental tenant of my professional practice.

Subsequent to this I completed a second postgraduate Masters of Sports Physiotherapy. While focused on sport, the basis of this study is the appraisal and application of clinical research to drive evidence-based clinical practice. During part of this program, I was lucky enough to undertake advanced study in a number of areas including management of complex and chronic pain, lower back, hip and groin pain, shoulder pain and treatment for pain and pathology of tendon and bone.
